Iñigo advises banks and private developers on project & structured finance transactions.

Iñigo advises banks and private developers on project & structured finance transactions such as energy and infrastructure projects. Iñigo also regularly advises both financial entities and listed and non-listed companies on real estate finance, asset finance, leverage finance and corporate finance transactions including debt restructuring.
 
Iñigo has also experience in advising both financial entities and listed and non-listed companies on capital markets transactions such as project bonds and private placements.
 
Iñigo's experience includes advising:
 
  • one of the largest assert managers in Europe on the financing granted to a major international sponsor to a Spanish Holdco for the refinancing of a concessionaire of highways located in Portugal *
  • a syndicate of international and domestic financial institutions on the refinancing granted to an important international fund in respect of two concentrated solar power projects with a capacity of 50 MW each, located in the region of Granada, Spain * 
  • an important international energy investment fund on the mezzanine financing granted by a major European business bank in relation to a circa 96MWp PV plants located in the region of Albacete, Spain *
  • a major food corporation in Spain on its senior corporate refinancing and working capital debt instruments provided by a syndicate of international and domestic financial institutions *
  • a major energy and infrastructure fund on the financing granted by a syndicate of international and domestic financial institutions for the acquisition of a portfolio of PV projects in certain regions of Spain *
  • a major listed sustainable infrastructure company on the refinancing granted by a group of bondholders (backed by one of the largest "monoline insurer") in respect of two concentrated solar power projects with a capacity of 50 MW each located in the regulation of Castilla La Mancha, Spain *
  • a syndicate of international and domestic financial institutions (including institutional investors) on the refinancing granted a major listed sustainable infrastructure company in connection with two concentrated solar power projects with a capacity of 50 MW each, located in the region of Seville, Spain *
  • a syndicate of international and domestic financial institutions on the financing granted to a major Portuguese group for the acquisition of a portfolio of wind assets in Spain owned previously by the one of the largest public corporations in Portugal *

Background

Iñigo has a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an LLM from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues in Business Corporate Law (Máster en Práctica Jurídica – Especialidad Empresarial). He speaks Spanish and English. He joined Herbert Smith Freehills from another international law firm in Madrid.
