Rémi is Of Counsel in the Paris Dispute Resolution team. 

Rémi Jouaneton has advised leading financial institutions in connection with actions brought against them before courts or in disciplinary proceedings before the French financial regulators (the AMF and the ACPR) and has assisted various market participants in investigations conducted by the AMF for possible market abuse.

His experience covers issues relating to the liability of financial institutions in connection with the provision of investment services and the granting of credit, market abuse and, more generally, issues related to the professional obligations and good conduct to which they are subject.

Rémi also advises companies and their officers in connection with capital transactions, shareholder disputes and their civil and criminal liability.

Rémi's experience includes:
 

  • assisting an asset manager working for a leading French asset management company in an AMF proceeding concerning possible market abuse
  • assisting  a US activist short seller in an AMF proceeding concerning possible price manipulation
  • assisting and representing a French credit institution in the context of a massive fraud involving European judicial and police cooperation
  • assisting a French credit institution in the context of an ACPR procedure relating to the capping of bank charge
  • assisting and representing a French credit institution in the context of mass litigation relating to the regularity of real estate credit offers 

Background

Member of the Paris Bar since 2012, Rémi holds an LL.M. from the University of King's College London (UK, 2011) and an LL.M. from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland, 2008). He also holds a Master 2 in general private law (2009) and French-Swiss comparative law (2008) from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He has taught corporate law at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas  and has provided training for professionals in stock exchange law and banker's liability.
