Priyanka completed her training contract with Herbert Smith Freehills and qualified into the Firm's Intellectual Property litigation team in March 2018. Her main focus area is patent disputes in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector, and she has worked on complex patent and SPC litigation matters at the High Court and Court of Appeal in England and Wales.
Priyanka is also experienced in coordination of multi-jurisdictional litigation across Europe, and in assisting with referrals to the CJEU.
Priyanka's recent experience includes:
- advising Gilead on its IP rights in relation to their TRUVADA® product in UK and Europe
- advising Ariosa on a patent dispute concerning its Harmony® non-invasive prenatal genetic test at the High Court and Court of Appeal
- advising on various non-contentious, commercial and regulatory IP issues
Background
Priyanka is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, as well as in India.
Priyanka completed her BA LLB (Hons.) in 2015 from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. In 2019, she completed the University of Oxford’s Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice, in which she was awarded a Distinction.
