Tim's role involves pensions know-how and policy, thought leadership and client training.

Tim is responsible for keeping clients and colleagues up to date with the latest developments in pensions law and practice. With nearly 15 years' experience advising occupational pension schemes, providers and assets managers, Tim uses his experience, expertise and industry connections to help clients and colleagues stay "ahead of the game".

Tim has particular expertise advising on pensions regulation and the Pension Regulator's new powers, GMP equalisation, ESG and climate-related risks, automatic enrolment and the statutory funding regime.

Tim sits on the Pension and Lifetime Savings Association's Legal Advisory Group and the methodology committee of the GMP Equalisation Working Group. He is also a member of the industry's Small Pots Co-ordination Group.

He is a regular speaker on webinars and podcasts and at seminars and conferences. He is also a regular media commentator.
 

  • Tim has advised and delivered training to several clients and industry bodies on the implications of the new pensions criminal offences and Regulatory sanctions contained in the Pension Schemes Act 2021.
  • Tim has advised and delivered training to several schemes on their approach to implementing GMP equalisation and the issues that need to be addressed as part of this.
  • Tim helped draft the GMP Equalisation Working Group's methodology guidance.
  • Tim is supporting industry efforts to develop a long-term solution to the challenges posed by the growing number of small pension pots.
