Briana.Young@hsf.com_LGSBriana Young, Professional Support Consultant in Herbert Smith Freehills' Hong Kong office, has been appointed to the Council of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).

Briana is the third Herbert Smith Freehills' appointee to the governing body of the top-five arbitration centre. She joins Justin D'Agostino, Global Head of Disputes, and partner Kathryn Sanger, who recently joined the firm in Hong Kong, as HKIAC Council members.

"We're delighted with this appointment, which recognises Briana's contribution to the HKIAC and to arbitration in Hong Kong," said Justin.

"We are proud as a firm to support the key arbitral institutions in Asia and around the world. Briana's vision for, and understanding of, international arbitration will be put to good use in further expanding the success of HKIAC in the years ahead."

Briana provides professional support to the firm's leading Asian international arbitration practice, and has developed an impressive market profile through her work with the region's arbitral centres, particularly HKIAC. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2011, she practised as a disputes and arbitration lawyer at two Magic Circle firms.

In the most recent Queen Mary College survey of international arbitration last year, HKIAC was named as one of the world's top-five preferred arbitral institutions, alongside ICC, LCIA, SIAC and SCC, and was also recognised as the most improved arbitral institution over the past five years.
