There are so many ESG-related publications and developments that it is hard to keep abreast of them all. For this reason, every two weeks, our firm has been publishing a tracker of ESG-related publications and developments, with a primary focus on developments that may be of most interest to or impact our clients, be they corporates, asset managers or asset owners.
Key updates covered in this edition include:
- the FCA’s letter to authorised fund managers setting out its expectations on the design, delivery and disclosure of environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainable investment funds;
- the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ consultation report on ESG ratings and data providers;
- the Spanish National Plan for Purification, Sanitation, Efficiency, Conservation and Reuse of Water came into force, after its publication on 27 July 2021 in the Official State Gazette; and
- on 3 August 2021, the Spanish Cabinet approved the referral to Parliament of the bill to act on the remuneration of non-emitted CO2 arising from the electricity market.
