Anastasia is an associate in our employment, pensions and incentives team, who is based in our New York office.

 

Anastasia defends clients in employment-related litigation in a broad array of matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment and hostile work environment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, and wage and hour disputes, in state and federal courts, arbitrations, mediations and before various administrations. She also provides counsel to clients on many employment law issues, including hiring, training, employment policies, accommodation and leave requests, employee relations, investigations, reductions in force, performance management, and retaining diverse talent. Anastasia also maintains an active pro bono practice representing survivors of domestic and gender-based violence with her co-counsel at Sanctuary for Families.

Anastasia’s experience includes:

  • obtaining pre-discovery dismissal of claims of race and age discrimination and violations of state and federal COVID-19 safety mandates on behalf of an international private security company in Maryland federal court
  • successful defense of prominent New York City hospital system against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination 
  • assisted large financial services client with restructuring and reduction in force plans, including vetting termination selections to mitigate risk
  • provides training on wage and hour and anti-harassment compliance

 

Background

 

Anastasia received a B.A., summa cum laude, from The City College of New York, and a J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

During law school, Anastasia served as an Alexander Fellow for the Honorable Laura Taylor Swain of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
