Andrew is Of Counsel in the firm's corporate practice with a focus on the oil & gas and energy sectors.

Andrew's experience includes advising international oil companies, financial buyers and traders on mergers & acquisitions, project development, joint ventures and commercial contracts in relation to the entire oil & gas value chain.

Andrew's experience includes advising:
 

  • Woodside, Cairn, FAR and Petrosen in relation to the development of the SNE / Sangomar fields, offshore Senegal
  • Vitol on its US$7 billion oil & gas project in Ghana including advising on the gas sales agreement with GNPC
  • Tullow on the development of its Kenyan upstream assets and the East Africa Pipeline, a crude oil pipeline to export the crude oil from Kenya
  • Trident Energy on the acquisition (together with Kosmos Energy) of Hess International Petroleum, Inc., the indirect owner of an 80.75% participating interest in the Block G offshore oil and gas field in Equatorial Guinea
  • BP on the disposal of its downstream businesses in Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia and Botswana to Puma Energy

Background

Andrew holds an LL.B (Law with American Law) from the University of Nottingham which included one year at the University of Texas at Austin. He spent a year working at a leading law firm in Trinidad before joining Herbert Smith Freehills. He was seconded to BP for 10 months in 2011-12.
