Anita specialises in disputes and international arbitration involving commercial and construction disputes.

Anita acts for clients in various industries in a broad range of commercial disputes involving company law and shareholders’ disputes, joint venture disputes, construction, minority oppression actions, and insolvency matters. She also has a broad civil litigation experience in land law, reinsurance, securities, trusts and partnership disputes. She acts in international arbitration under various institutional rules (including AIAC, SIAC and ICC).

Anita has worked closely with clients across Asia, China, Europe, Middle East and UK in their cross-border disputes. She has appeared at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts. Anita is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. She is also empaneled as an arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre. Anita is also a Regional Ambassador for Malaysia of HK45 at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She is a regular speaker on arbitration and construction topics.

Anita's experience includes advising:

a Chinese contractor in a SIAC arbitration involving disputes arising out of a supply contract for the construction of a chemical plant
Acted for a financial institution with regard to a dispute over a core banking system, which was eventually referred to the ICC, with the seat of the arbitration in Singapore*
Co-counsel in an arbitration in relation to the construction and delivery of 50 Pressure Vessels*
dispute between members of a joint venture on the construction of the largest hydroelectric dam in South East Asia*
Acted for a group of companies in Malaysia, the British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong and Shanghai, involving shareholding disputes, ownership of company shares and probate proceedings*
