Antonio Coveñas

Antonio advises both industrial clients and investment funds, foreign and Spanish, in M&A transactions involving energy and infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on renewable energy assets.

Antonio's experience includes advising:

• Naturgy on the disposal of its natural gas transportation grid in Spain to a consortium formed by Allianz and CPPIB*
• Praxair on the disposal of its business in Spain in the context of the divestment of its entire European business to Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation*
• Canadian Solar on the development of several solar photovoltaic projects in Spain with a capacity of up to 1,000 MW*
• Cerberus Capital Management on the acquisition of 9 solar photovoltaic projects in Spain and their subsequent corporate restructuring*
• Naturgy on the estimated €550 million acquisition of a 34.05% stake in Medgaz, increasing its stake to 49%*

Background

Antonio has a Law Degree and a Business Administration Degree from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville (partially pursued in France at the Valenciennes University). He also has a dual LL.M. in Corporate Law from IE Law School.
He speaks Spanish and English.
