Joseph Fisher

Joe has worked on a wide range of corporate matters for a number of major Japanese companies with a particular focus on M&A, joint ventures and general corporate and commercial transactions. He regularly advises on transactions in both developed and emerging markets and has worked on deals across numerous jurisdictions in the firm's London and Tokyo offices. Joe also has experience across a wide range of sectors including consumer products, manufacturing and industrials, TMT and energy.

Joe was named as a "Rising Star" in 2020, 2021 and 2022 for Corporate and M&A in Japan by Legal 500's Asia Pacific rankings.

Joe's recent experience includes advising:

• Bridgestone Corporation on its acquisition of Otraco International Pty Ltd, a leader in Off-the-Road (OTR) tire management solutions, from Downer EDI Limited.
• Capgemini on its acquisition of the SAP software consulting business of Multibook, a Japan-based IT company that provides services including system consulting service, global helpdesk service, cloud-based accounting tools.
• FamilyMart Co., Ltd on the sale of its 49% shareholding in Central FamilyMart, its joint venture in Thailand with Central Food Retail Co., Ltd.
• Bridgestone Corporation on the acquisition of the iTrack Solutions Business, a hi-tech UK tyre monitoring business, from AIM-listed Transense Technologies Plc.

Background

Joe holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Victoria University of Wellington. He is admitted to practice in New Zealand and in England and Wales and is a licensed Registered Foreign Lawyer (Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi) in Japan.
