Josh’s core practice involves advising on structuring, negotiating, documenting and implementing a broad range of transactions, including in relation to technology and IT procurement, intellectual property and licensing, commercialisation contracts, and major services arrangements (including in respect of outsourcing projects). Josh also advises in relation to data protection and privacy compliance.
A selection of Josh’s recent matters including advising:
- WA Government in relation to the procurement and implementation of a bespoke solution to modernise the performance of certain legislative functions
- a number of clients in relation to compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (Cth), Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and APRA prudential standards relating to information security and outsourcing
- a number of clients in relation to the commercialisation of emerging technologies (including in the energy, agricultural and ammunitions industries)
- University of Western Australia in relation to the launch of a new foundational and pathway program in partnership with an international education services provider
- Rottnest Island Authority in relation to the ongoing administration of, and amendments to, its utilities and support services contract
Background
Josh graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws (with distinction) and Bachelor of Business (International Business). He has served on the Western Australian Football Commission’s Community Football Tribunal since 2022.
