Marcos Fernández-Rico Núñez
Marcos is a corporate lawyer who specialises in domestic and cross-border M&A with a particular focus on private capital.
Marcos areas of expertise include M&A transactions (advising industrial clients and private equity funds alike); hedge funds and other distressed operators in the sale and purchase of loan portfolios (both performing and non-performing, secured and unsecured), real estate assets, corporate debt, incentive plans to key managers, shares in companies declared to be insolvent (or at risk of being so declared); corporate advice on private companies; and business reorganization processes (mergers, spin-offs, etc.) at national level as well as those with an international dimension.
Marcos professional experience encompasses approaching, analyzing, negotiating and formalizing sale and purchase transactions (involving shares, businesses or a combination of both, as well as distressed debt).

Background
He has a law degree and a diploma in Business administration and management by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) de Madrid. He also holds a master's degree in Law (LLM) by Instituto de Empresa (Spain) and a master's degree in Business law by Boston College University (USA). He is a professor at IE teaching various programs (cross-border M&A, private equity, among others).
He speaks Spanish and English.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked at another international law firm in Madrid.
He is a member of the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid (ICAM – Madrid Bar Association).
