Niall Kennedy

Niall is responsible for managing ALT Disputes matters and supporting instructing teams throughout the Herbert Smith Freehills global network to provide high quality outcomes for clients.

Niall leads and supervises teams of legal analysts and solicitors to deliver high quality legal review services for high-volume and document-intensive legal work. This includes working on large scale litigation, arbitration, internal and external investigations and contentious regulatory matters.

Niall has an interest in legal technology and how it can be used to produce innovative and cost-effective solutions for clients.

Since joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Niall has advised clients including:

• A financial services company with a high-profile remediation project being run by an independent panel chaired by a former High Court judge
• A financial services company in relation to an investigation and potential enforcement action by the regulator
• A financial services company in relation to a skilled person review following allegations by a whistle blower
• An international corporate client regarding a European antitrust infringement and subsequent damages litigation

Background

Niall joined Herbert Smith Freehills in 2013. He graduated with a degree in law with government from the University of Ulster in 2007 and qualified as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2010.  Niall also completed a master's degree in corporate governance at Queen's University, Belfast in 2012.
