Tayla specialises in commercial transactional matters relating to technology and privacy.

Tayla supports clients on complex and strategic contracts across a variety of sectors. Tayla has experience assisting clients on a range of technology procurement and implementation projects, including negotiations, as well as providing strategic advice on software licensing terms.

Tayla has assisted in advising clients on data protection, contractual and regulatory compliance, and their obligations under Australian privacy law including around data retention and security.

Tayla has worked for a range of clients across the utilities, government, health, tourism, MedTech and, energy and resources sector.

Tayla’s experience includes:
 

  • advising energy, utilities, infrastructure and healthcare clients on privacy compliance obligations
  • drafting internal policies including privacy, information management and data governance policies
  • drafting and advising on software development, software licence and procurement, service level, and maintenance agreements 
  • undertaking privacy, information technology and intellectual property due diligence assessments for M&A transactions
  • drafting agreements for public sector and government entities including fundraising, sponsorship, partnership services and licence agreements
  • assisting with the preparation of urgent refugee and humanitarian visa applications and coordinating client interviews

Background

Tayla holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor from the University of Western Australia. Tayla is admitted to practice as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.

Tayla is the Co-Chair of the Buildings Connections Committee in the Perth office, and also sits on the Diversity & Inclusion, Wellness and Mental Health, and Communities Committee. Outside of HSF, Tayla sits on the Advisory Board for UneARThed WA.
