Andrea Sneddon

Andrea is an experienced commercial litigator, with specialist expertise in defending class actions.

Andrea has acted for some of Australia’s largest corporations in defending some of the most high-profile class actions in Australia and has assisted our clients in managing the risks associated with these actions.

Her experience includes:

• AMP: defending shareholder class action proceedings arising out of evidence at the Financial Services Royal Commission
• DePuy and Johnson & Johnson: defending one of Australia’s largest product liability class actions in relation to the production and supply of metal-on-metal hip implants
• Commonwealth Bank of Australia: defending civil penalty proceedings brought by the Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulator, AUSTRAC, in relation to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing legislation
• Diageo: defending class action litigation regarding the drug thalidomide

Background

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Andrea has been admitted to practise since December 2009.
