Conor McKillop

He leads our ALT Disputes teams to deliver on client matters across a range of sectors, working closely with clients and with instructing teams.

Conor joined the ALT Disputes team in 2016 as a solicitor, having previously practised as a solicitor in the Northern Ireland market. Conor initially worked on a complex remediation scheme for a banking client, before being seconded to the client to support a separate high profile remediation project. Conor has a particular focus on the banking sector, but has also assisted clients with insurance, employment and construction matters.

Conor co-leads the Multiculturalism Network within the Belfast office.

Since joining Herbert Smith Freehills in January 2016, Conor has been involved in numerous matters including:

• secondment to a banking client in order to support a high profile remediation exercise
• a large scale disclosure review for an energy client involving multiple parties and multiple issues for relevance
• advising an energy client in relation to the relative merits of claims and counterclaims that were the subject of arbitration proceedings, in order to assist the client in devising a settlement strategy
